How to Use Reddit to Attract Fans

If you only promote on one platform, make it Reddit. It allows adult content, the audience skews heavily toward adult men, and unlike most social platforms it will not shadowban you for existing. It is also the platform where a post from an account with no followers can reach a hundred thousand people, because Reddit ranks posts, not people.

That last point is the whole opportunity, and most creators waste it.

Karma, and why your first week matters

Reddit runs on karma: points earned when people upvote your posts and comments. Most NSFW subreddits set a minimum karma threshold and a minimum account age before you can post. Some want 50 karma, some want 500, some want your account to be 30 days old.

So before you promote anything, spend a week or two just being a Reddit user. Comment on things you find interesting. Post in non-NSFW subs about hobbies you actually have. Build the account so it looks like a person rather than a funnel. Creators who skip this step hit a wall on day one and assume Reddit does not work.

Finding the right subreddits

Reddit's size cuts both ways. There are thousands of NSFW subreddits, and posting to the biggest ones is usually the worst strategy: your post is buried within minutes.

Smaller, specific subreddits convert better. Think about what actually describes your content: body type, hair colour, age range, aesthetic, the specific thing you wear. There is almost certainly a subreddit for it, and a post there stays visible for hours rather than seconds.

Read the rules. Every subreddit, every time.

This is where most bans happen. Every subreddit has its own rules and they vary wildly:

• Some ban all links, including in comments
• Some require verification photos before you can post
• Some allow selling, some ban it entirely
• Some limit how often you can post, often once a day or once a week
• Some require specific title formats or flair

A ban from a large subreddit is usually permanent, and you cannot appeal your way back in most cases. Two minutes reading the sidebar saves you an audience you cannot rebuild.

What actually gets upvoted

Reddit users can smell an advert. Posts that read like marketing get downvoted regardless of the image.

What works: a good photo, a title that sounds like a person wrote it, and genuine replies in the comments. Ask a question. Respond to people. Reddit rewards participation far more than it rewards frequency.

Post quality matters more here than anywhere else, because you are competing against thousands of other images in the same feed. Sharp lighting, a considered outfit and a clean background separate you immediately. Timing

Post when your audience is awake. For most NSFW subs that means US evenings, roughly 8pm to midnight Eastern, and Sunday nights are reliably strong. Check the sub itself: sort by top posts of the week and look at when they were posted.

Linking to your page

Many subreddits ban direct OnlyFans links. The standard workaround is a landing page (AllMyLinks, Linktree or similar) in your Reddit profile rather than in the post, so people who like your content go looking rather than being sold to.

Keep your Reddit username consistent with your handles elsewhere. It makes you findable.
